Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management (HRM)

Our program offers students the opportunity to study a comprehensive curriculum in the human resource management degree program. The human resource management profession is one of the most challenging aspects of the modern business world and an exciting career for those who have excellent communication skills. With the increasing complexity of many jobs, the aging of the workforce, and advances in technology a well trained HR department is needed in every major business. Human resource professionals must constantly upgrade their HR knowledge and skills to meet these needs.
Through this program students will learn the skills needed to succeed in this field. All of the courses are focused on the major. This allows students to maximize their learning in the core courses and succeed in their educational and career goals.
Students begin with the study of human resource management and organizational psychology principles and applications. Specific courses focus on personnel administration, employment law, recruitment and retention, performance and termination, compensation and benefits management, as well as labor relations, safety and training and development. In the higher division courses students enter symposium and project courses where they are able to select more focused study in one area of human resource management, and complete a comprehensive project and human resource management degree research topic course. These specialty courses allow students maximum opportunities to experience the real world of this specialty. Several career fields this degree will prepare you for are:
